The day tour to Nickerie and Bigi Pan starts very early in the morning.
We leave from Paramaribo around 5.00 am to drive 250 kilometers to Nieuw Nickerie.
On the way we make stops at the viewpoints: Groningen, Coronie, Wageningen and the highlights of Nickerie.
You will receive plenty of information about everything along the way from on of our guides.
When we arrivie in Nickerie we visit the market and the Hindu temple and crematorium as well as the backtrack route to Guyana.
After that we go towards Bigi Pan, a huge salt water pan, where various bird species can be spotted, including many birds of prey and the red ibis.
In the right season also the Flamingos that spent the winter here!
And often along the canal to and from Bigi Pan there are some monkeys to be seen.
There is time for a mud bath and further relax on the accommodation on the lake.
In the late afternoon we return and head for Paramaribo again per car.
A long but very filled day tour!
