The green Commewijne district is located to the east of Paramaribo, on the other side of the Suriname river.
In this historically very significant area of Suriname, numerous remains of the colonial age, old sugar, coffee and tobacco plantations can be found.
After a departure at 10:00 from Sidewalkcafe ‘t Vat we visit Peperpot plantation and its nature park.

From here we continue per foot to the Frederiksdorp plantation.
This plantation has been restored to its full glory and gives a nice view into Suriname’s past.
