Browns Mountain and Isadou - 3 Days

Overview

During this tour you can expect different types of flora and fauna, such as small palm trees and meter-high trees filled with orchids, but also different animals.
Examples are colorful birds, snakes, monkeys, sloths, frogs and also boars. This tour is definitely one for the nature lover.
The Brownsberg’s greatest treasures are the various natural waterfalls on the mountain, where you can take a lovely shower.

The route from Paramaribo to the Browns mountain is about 190 kilometers.
On our way we pass viewpoints such as Suralco, the former bauxite processing plant and the transmigration village of Brownsweg (Maroon village).
We climb the road to the top of the mountain per car, once arrived at the top, a beautiful view over the reservoir awaits us.

After hiking to the Leo and or Irene waterfalls we will descend in the afternoon to the village of Brownsweg and from here we continue per car towards Atjoni.
At this harbor town on the Suriname river we take the boat to Isadou.
On Isadou (an island across from the village JawJaw) is the accommodation where we will spend 2 nights.
There are simple lodges, with beds and shower and toilet.

Next to relaxing, swimming, fishing and enjoying the local food, there are several activities included.
Cayman spotting, a forest walk and a city walk are on the program.

Isadou is run by the local lady Celientje, together with her husband.
They will ensure you will have a nice time at their resort.
