Overview
Blanche Marie and Apoera 4 day tour:
The Blanche-Marie falls are located in West Suriname and are located in the Bakhuis mountain range.
West Suriname is an impressively, mostly unspoiled area with many rivers, creeks, rapids (soelas in Surinamese) and big and beautiful waterfalls.
After an adventurous eight-hour trip, mostly on bauxite road, you will arrive at the foot of the Bakhuis Mountains at the Blanche Marie resort where you will spend 2 nights in hammocks along the Nickerie river.
In the area you can find all eight monkey species of Suriname and more than 200 bird species including parrots, macaws and trumpet birds. Also, two species of giant otters and other mammals can be found here.
The resort is great for nature lovers and birdwatchers, but also for bathing in the waterfalls, fishing, swimming and relaxing.
We will also visit the Indian village Apoera. Here we spend a night in beds, and we will make a nice trip on the Corantijn river to see if we can spot the giant water otters. In the village you can witness the customs and culture of the indigenous people.
Standard tour is accommodation in Blanche Marie in hammocks and Apoera in beds.
For an additional price pp beds in Blanche Marie lodge are possible, if available on the requested date)
