Overview
During this 9 day tour through the west of Suriname we will visit the most beautiful and special places.
We go deeper into the rainforest, in nature reserves and to the Bigi Pan water reserve.
One can spot different animal species like monkeys, sloths, many birds, and odds at all sort of wildlife.
You will also encounter some of the various population groups and their respective cultures during this trip.
Highlights we visit:
Nickerie, the rice district, and Bigi pan.
Bigipan is an ideal place to visit for bird watchers.
Among others: herons, birds of prey, waders and the beautiful red ibises.
Raleigh falls and Voltz mountain, deep in the rainforest, alongside the Coppename river.
Hike to the top of the Voltz mountain and a visit the Mother Falls.
Blanche Marie and Apoera!
Bath in the Blanche Marie falls and visit Apoera, where you will get to know two indigenous tribes and their cultures.
Accommodation:
The overnight stay for Raleigh falls and Voltz mountain and at Blanche Marie, in Apoera and in Bigi pan are simple bed accommodation.
Basic lodges with beds, bath and toilet are shared.
The accommodation in Nickerie is in a hotel.
In the Bigi pan there is no running water and no air conditioning, but there is a fan in the rooms.
The accommodation at Raleigh Falls is managed by Stinasu, a conservation organization dedicated to conservation of Raleigh Falls.
The accommodation is built in the middle of nature, which makes the overnight stays very special.
Note : For single travelers or those who want their own room, a single supplement of € 250 pp will be charged for all accommodations in total.
If you don’t mind sharing the room with someone else, you can be placed with someone of the same sex.
